STEWARDS TEAM JOB DESCRIPTION
Stewards are a “24 hour team” and are needed to work throughout
the events on a shift rota, as well as setting up beforehand and at closedown.
Applicants may volunteer for either day or night crew, although the Chief
Steward will make the final decision. Stewards need to be aware of the
duties expected of them through their attendance to team meetings and
by reference to rotas. They must also be aware of the rules governing
acceptable behaviour on site and the vision for Soul Survivor promoted
by our Directors and leadership, and the good practice guidelines with
reference to children and child protection procedures.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
The Chief Steward through the command structure of Assistant Chief Steward,
Senior Controller, Chief Usher and Team Leaders.
AIMS:
The main aim of the stewards is to ensure that the event functions smoothly.
They are responsible for assisting security, and for the safety of the
delegates and workers on the Showground. They are also responsible for
setting up the site before the event and for returning the site to a Showground
afterwards.
DUTIES:
- To ensure that the site is set up for the events and meets the requirements
of the Health and Safety Executive and Fire Officer
- To patrol the site and take action whenever a breach of the site
rules or law of the land occurs, or a potentially serious situation
is observed
- To steward the Celebrations, seminars, gigs, and other meetings and
venues
- To assist as required in the event of an accident or emergency
- To serve the delegates, speakers and other workers at all times
CONCESSIONS:
Stewards receive a free pass to the event and are provided with meals.
If required, there is also a small amount of basic accommodation available.
CONDITIONS
- Soul Survivor has outlined certain values & Principles for ministry,
which should be read and understood. Whilst on a team at Soul Survivor,
you are expected to accept and live out of these values at all times.
- You should attend all appropriate team meetings during the event.
- You must be 18 years or over.
- You must be prepared to work on a shift basis.
